How to Utilize the App

ColorNote® offers two primary formats for note-taking: a lined-paper style text option and a checklist format. Create as many entries as you desire for your master list, which loads every time you launch the app. You can view this list in classic ascending order, grid format, or organized by color.

- Creating a Note -
The text option functions similarly to a basic word processor, allowing unlimited character input. Once saved, you may edit, share, set reminders, or delete the note using your device’s menu button. Checked items will display a slash through the list title, making it clear on the main menu.

- Making To-Do or Shopping Lists -
In checklist mode, you can add an endless number of items, rearranging them using drag buttons in edit mode. After finalizing and saving your list, simply tap each line to check or uncheck it, which will toggle a line slash. If every item is checked, the list title will also be marked.

Online Backup and Sync

Your notes are protected with AES encryption, the same standard used by banks to ensure data security before any uploads. Your notes are never sent to the server unless you sign in. You can log in using your Google or Facebook account.

A: If the app resides on the SD card, these features will malfunction due to Android's limitations. Move the app back to your device for optimal functionality.

Q: Where can I find backed up notes on the SD card?
A: Look for your files in either '/data/colornote' or '/Android/data/com.socialnmobile.dictapps.notepad.color.note/files' on your SD card.

Q: How do I change my master password if forgotten?
A: Navigate to Menu → Settings → Master Password → Menu Button → Clear Password. Note that doing this will delete any locked notes!

Q: How do I create a to-do list note?
A: Select New, choose checklist note, input your items, and save. Tapping an item will cross it out.
